About
The purpose of the Purdue e-Data repository will be to provide a place for depositing and sharing (as appropriate) data from research generated at Purdue University and thus to help enhance and promote knowledge and discovery. Working closely with other units on campus, Purdue e-Data aims to provide sustainability for datasets and collections through "data curation": the creation, application and maintenance of metadata to facilitate access to archiving for and preservation of research data. This definition of metadata spans multiple layers that allows 1) wide scale discovery and long term management, 2) researchers to understand what the does is/can do, and 3) for maintenance and storage.

Purdue e-Data is currently a research project of the Distributed Data Curation Center (D2C2) of Purdue University.
